Cookie Policy

What this site stores in your browser, which today is next to nothing: there is no basket, no account and no analytics package on teskis.com, so an ordinary visit to read about secateurs or hose fittings sets no cookies at all.

Last updated: 11 September 2026

This page explains what a cookie is, what teskis.com actually writes to your device, the narrow circumstances in which the software behind the site writes anything, what would have to happen before we started measuring visits, and how to shut the whole category down from your browser regardless of what we say. It covers the website https://teskis.com/ and is published by FLOFUM, S.L., trading as Teskis, Calle Parcerisa 13, Local 1, 08014 Barcelona, Spain, CIF B75621250.

Cookies that can single out a device count as personal data, so this page sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets out the legal bases, the retention periods and the rights you can exercise against us. Registration and company details are on the Legal Notice.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. It holds a short string — a session number, a stored preference, a record that you were asked something and answered — and the browser hands it back with your next request, so the site can tell that two page views came from the same device. A first-party cookie is one written by the domain in the address bar, in our case teskis.com. A third-party cookie is written by some other domain whose content appears inside the page, which is how tracking across unrelated sites is normally done.

Two related mechanisms belong in the same conversation. Local storage keeps a value in the browser until something clears it. Session storage keeps one until you close the tab. Neither is technically a cookie, both do a similar job, and where this page says “cookies” it means all three.

Server logs are a different thing again and are not covered here. Our host records the IP address, the browser string, the page requested and the time, the way every web server does, so that an outage or an attack can be traced. Nothing is written to your device to make that happen. The Privacy Policy covers how long those logs are kept and who reads them.

What teskis.com sets today

On an ordinary visit — you land on the home page, read the guide on sharpening pruning shears, look through the range and leave — this site sets no cookies, writes nothing to local storage and stores nothing in session storage. That is not a promise about the future; it is a statement about the software installed on the site as at the date at the top of this page.

The reason is the way the shop is built rather than any special restraint on our part. Most of what normally fills a cookie policy simply is not here:

  • There is no basket and no checkout. WooCommerce is not installed, and neither is any other cart software. Nothing has to remember what you put in a basket ten minutes ago, because there is no basket. Orders are placed by emailing a list of tools and a delivery address to support@teskis.com.
  • There are no customer accounts. No registration, no sign-in, no password, no order history behind a login. So nothing has to keep you signed in or recognise you when you come back.
  • There is no analytics package. No traffic measurement of any kind is installed. We do not count visits, sessions, page paths, scroll depth or the site you arrived from, and no third-party measurement script runs on these pages.
  • There is no advertising or retargeting code. No ad network tags, no social media pixels, no conversion tracking, no audience lists. We build no profiles, and we have nothing to sell or rent to anyone who does.

Because nothing beyond the strictly necessary is set, there is nothing to ask your permission for, and so no cookie consent banner is installed on this site. We would rather say that plainly than put a banner in your way for the sake of appearances.

Check it yourself

You do not have to take our word for it. In Chrome, Edge or Firefox, press F12 to open the developer tools and look under Application or Storage, then at Cookies, Local storage and Session storage for teskis.com. In Safari, switch on the Develop menu under Settings → Advanced and use the Storage tab. On a clean visit those lists should be empty. If you find something there that this page does not explain, tell us at support@teskis.com and we will either remove it or document it.

What the site software can set, and when

The site runs on WordPress, which does have cookies of its own. They belong to the people who edit the site rather than the people who read it, and they are written only on the administrative screens.

Situation What is written Who it affects
Someone opens the WordPress login screen A short test cookie, usually named wordpress_test_cookie, written to check that the browser will accept cookies at all before a sign-in is attempted. It goes when the browser closes. Our staff. There is no customer login, and no page on the shop links to that screen.
A member of staff signs in to edit the site Sign-in cookies, named along the lines of wordpress_logged_in_ followed by a hash, which hold the editing session open, plus wp-settings- cookies remembering how that editor left their admin screens. Our staff only. Nothing is set for a visitor who never signs in, because a visitor has nothing to sign in to.
A page is served through a hosting cache or security layer A host can set a technical cookie of its own to route a request or keep a cache consistent. Where that happens it is strictly necessary to deliver the page you asked for, carries no marketing identifier and builds no profile. Anyone, in principle, though we have found none in normal use.

WordPress can also store a commenter’s name and email address in their browser. Teskis publishes no comment boxes — the notes are read-only — so that path never runs. There are no embedded videos, maps or social widgets on these pages either. If we ever add embedded content from another domain, it will be named on this page before it goes live, because embedded players routinely set cookies of their own the moment you press play.

Where the categories stand

Cookie policies usually sort cookies into categories. Here is the honest state of each one on this site.

Category In use on teskis.com What it would take
Strictly necessary None in a visitor’s session. Only the administrative and hosting cookies described above. A feature that genuinely could not work without one, documented here.
Preference or functional None. Nothing remembers a setting, a language or a dismissed message. Adding a preference worth remembering. It would be named here and asked for first.
Analytics or measurement None. No package is installed and nothing about your visit is measured. Installing one. See the section below; it does not happen quietly.
Advertising, retargeting, social None, and none planned. A decision we have not taken and do not intend to.

If we ever add analytics

We might one day want to know which guides are read to the end and which product pages people leave straight away. If that happens, the sequence is fixed and runs in this order:

  • This page is updated first, naming the provider, the cookies it sets, what each one does, how long each lasts and where the data is processed.
  • A consent banner is installed and appears before a single measurement cookie is written. Nothing loads while it is still on screen.
  • Accepting and refusing are equally easy, and closing the banner without choosing counts as a refusal.
  • Withdrawing consent is as simple as giving it, and the means of doing so goes into the site footer at the same time.
  • Refusing costs you nothing. The catalogue reads the same, the quote is the same, delivery is free either way, and your position under our Terms & Conditions, returns and warranty pages is untouched.

Until every one of those steps has been taken, the correct description of this site remains the one above: nothing is measured.

Managing cookies in your browser

Your browser controls this independently of anything a website does, and the settings are worth knowing even on a site as empty as this one. Menu wording shifts between versions; the paths below are current at the date of this policy.

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, with Delete browsing data to clear what is already stored.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data, where you can clear data or set per-site exceptions.
  • Safari on macOS: Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data, or Block all cookies for a blanket rule.
  • Safari on iPhone and iPad: Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced → Website Data, or Block All Cookies under Privacy & Security.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
  • Opera: Settings → Privacy & security → Third-party cookies, plus Clear browsing data.

A private or incognito window discards everything when the window closes, which is a clean way to read the site if you would rather leave nothing behind in your own browser history either.

What blocking everything costs you

Nothing. Block all cookies for teskis.com and every page still loads, every guide still reads, and every description and price is still there. There is no basket to break, no session to lose and no sign-in to fail. Ordering happens by email in any case: no browser setting can stop you sending a list of tools and a delivery address to support@teskis.com, getting a reply that confirms stock and the exact figure the driver will collect, inspecting the parcel at the door and paying the courier in cash. Delivery is free on every order, the parcel can be refused at the door at no cost, and 30-day returns apply either way. Your standing as a customer does not depend on a cookie setting and never will.

The Spanish position, in short

Article 22.2 of Ley 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) lets a site store information on your device without consent where it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have expressly asked for. Everything else — measurement, preference, advertising — needs your informed consent before it is written, not afterwards.

Applied here that is a short piece of reasoning. There is currently nothing in the second group, so there is nothing to consent to and no banner to click through. The administrative cookies described above fall in the first group and reach only the people who sign in to run the site. If we ever move something into the second group, the consent comes first, in the order set out earlier on this page.

Cookies and your personal data

A cookie that can tell one device from another is personal data under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Spanish LOPDGDD, whether or not it carries your name. FLOFUM, S.L. is the controller. For the strictly necessary and administrative cookies described above, our basis is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) in running a secure, working website. For anything in the measurement or preference categories the basis would be your consent under Article 6(1)(a), asked for before the cookie is set and withdrawable at any time, without unpicking what was lawfully done beforehand.

Retention, international transfers and your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability are set out in the Privacy Policy. If you think we have handled any of it badly, write to us first, since most of it is fixable the same week. You may also complain to the Spanish supervisory authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, at C/ Jorge Juan 6, 28001 Madrid, or through its website. If you live in another member state, your own national authority will take the complaint instead, and none of this removes your right to go to court.

Changes to this policy

This page is rewritten whenever the answer changes — a plugin added, a measurement tool installed, an embedded player put on a page, a move to a different host. The date at the top is the version in force and replaces anything published before it. A change that puts a new cookie on your device will be described here in plain words before it happens, not folded quietly into the text afterwards, and nothing in the consent categories is switched on retrospectively.
